Perfect match printer boosts productivity
Co-owners of Creative Media, Mark Stone and Neville Newton, have already ordered a second DuPont Cromaprint 22UV printing system
Consistent colour matching and direct-to-print performance are just two of the benefits boosting productivity at Creative Media, following the company's investment in a DuPont Cromaprint 22UV wide format flatbed and roll-to-roll digital printing system.
The new equipment has impressed owners of the Hampshire based printing firm so much that they have already ordered a second system.
Co-owner of Creative Media, Mark Stone, said: “The Cromanet CS colour management software saves us a lot of time and labour. Previously, we had to match colours by eye, often taking several attempts before we got it right however the Cromanet technology matches Pantone colours consistently, even from mailers printed using lithography.”
His partner, Neville Newton, added: “Investing in the Cromaprint and automated Pacer digital cutter has helped us to reduce turnaround time. All the work we do on the Cromaprint is printed direct onto the untreated substrate even when printing onto black, thanks to the white ink. In fact, the Cromaprint delivers six colours and a white at up to 10,000dpi, producing fantastic skin tones time after time.”
Utilising these features, Creative Media has built an impressive client base including the Hilton hotel chain, advertising company Saatchi and Saatchi and electrical retail company Dixons. The versatility of the Cromaprint has also opened new possibilities such as working with estate agents to print photographs of a property's interior on the ‘for sale’ board using the variable data printing (VDP) capabilities of the Cromaprint to tackle jobs that were previously done via screen printing.
Neville explained: “The functionality of the Cromaprint makes it very useful. We can use all kinds of substrates because of the ability to print both flatbed rigid and roll-to-roll media. For example we’ve already printed bespoke designs straight on to oak veneer for a pub chain and even printed fine art on to reinforced glass for Hilton hotels and the possibilities don’t end there.”
