Irish printers, publishers and print buyers are set to benefit from the appointment of Prepress IT as GMG dealer for the region. The agreement follows Prepress IT's relocation from Australia where managing director, Dan Wilson ran a successful pre-press workflow, press room colour management and proofing operation for the past seven years.

Having worked with a range of companies in Australia from newspapers, magazines and ad agencies, to web, commercial and flexo printers, Dan brings experience from pre-press through to offset and flexographic printing. He is also a GRACoL G7 certified expert, which qualifies him to advise on the G7TM press calibration methodology. Suitable for all types of printing, this helps users meet ISO 12647/2 print quality standards for visual appearance. In fact, Dan has just completed the first European installation of a G7 Print Predictability calibration at Business2Print in Clonshaugh, Dublin, which is now in full production.

Dan commented: “Having been immersed in the graphic arts industry for more than 30 years, I have experience of most printing processes, which is perfect for advising on best quality practice from pre-press through to managing colour. My GMG dealer status aids my quest to help print buyers, ad agencies, web, sheet fed and packaging printers to achieve first class print quality.”

Alongside GMG proofing solutions, Prepress IT offers a variety of products to help companies achieve print predictable and calibrated results ensuring shorter make-ready times and reduced waste levels on press. Prepress IT was appointed GMG's master distributor for Australia in 2003 and GMG is pleased to continue the partnership following the company's move to Ireland.
