Ink switch drives business growth
Matlock Media’s managing director, Peter Dell, is confident that ink choice played a valuable role in securing new business
Specialising in poster and fine art reproduction, Derbyshire-based Matlock Media believes its choice of ITL Digital Chrome inks has helped it win major contracts including the London Science Museum and National Rail Museum.
The story begins when ITL approached Matlock Media to test its Digital Chrome inks. Managing director, Peter Dell, explained: “The Digital Chrome Inks have a very simple changeover, so moving to ITL inks was easier than I had imagined.
ITL also have an onsite customer support engineer available either over the phone, or face-to-face, for any technical advice I might need, meaning I have a valuable support network should I ever need it.
“As an established reproduction specialist who views customers as the number one priority it was obviously important for me to choose a reputable company when choosing to move to another ink provider. Also, it is reassuring that ITL manufactures all its inks in the UK, giving me the confidence that I will always get the best service and products available at the right price.”
ITL is one of the UK’s largest independent ink manufacturers and, being local to Matlock Media’s Derbyshire studio, the supplier was a natural avenue for enquiry when the company decided to move to another ink provider.
Peter continued: “I have now been using ITL inks for over two-years and have built up a strong and long standing relationship with the company. The inks are the best third-party products on the market in my opinion, and the after-sales support package I receive is an added bonus that not all manufacturers offer.
Securing contracts
“The ITL Digital Chrome inks that I used to secure the recent contracts with London Science Museum and the National Rail Museum, have much better depth of colour, especially in the deep reds. They also offer the very best in scratch and fade resistance. As well as the valuable after-sales package they offer, ITL are also committed to R&D and welcome customer feedback meaning that they are always quick to market with new products."
“When pitching for such prestigious clients as London Science Museum and the National Rail Museum, it is essential to have the best in print quality as first impressions are everything. Having been a user of ITL Digital Chrome inks for over two-years, I also had the confidence that the inks would continue to perform to the same level once the contracts were secured.”
“Matlock Media believes the customer is king so it was vital clients were satisfied with the resulting image and print quality. Both clients were impressed with all aspects of the design, print and service they received from us whilst we were pitching for their business and it is testament to our reputation that we get most of our new contracts through word of month.”
ITL inks are being used in Matlock Media’s Epson CF10000, 9600, 7500 and Agfa Sherpa machines. They are designed to be compatible with the OEM and offer a true alternative at a competitive price.
Peter concluded: “I will most certainly be using ITL inks to help secure future contracts, ensuring that I will offer my customers the very best end result possible.”
