Trimmers track perfection
Leopold Professional Imaging will be highlighting Fotoba's new line of TJOL x-y trimmers
Leopold Professional Imaging will be highlighting Fotoba's new line of TJOL x-y trimmers, designed for use with the HP-Scitex TurboJet 8300 and 8500 printers. Both the solvent and UV printers can also be supplied with a transport and alignment table designed to increase production and facilitate an output of 400m2 per hour.
Focussing on the TJOL trimmer, users can select either the 2.5m wide XL250, or the 3.2m wide XL 320. Both use Fotoba cut marks to cut on the image side, correcting web tracking errors made by the printer as it travels. According to Leopold Professional Imaging, the cutter will follow the image without mistakes, even if the prints are not parallel to the web edge or the roll is not wound straight.
Various media can be handled by the cutters, with a maximum thickness of 0.8mm, including polycarbonates, laminated and encapsulated media, photo paper, vinyl, banner, sticky back vinyl, PVC, inkjet and electrostatic plotters media, graphic art film and Duratrans. The software and manual positioning system of the slicing unit is said to allow easy handling of different sized formats within the same roll. Alternatively, smaller x-y trimmers are available in 55, 61 and 75in widths.
