Colourgen will showcase the new 5400uv flatbed inkjet printer from ColourSpan
UV cure technology will take centre stage on Colourgen's stand, where visitors can see models from the ColorSpan 5400uv series of flatbed inkjet printers. The family consists of four 1,200dpi models targeted at small to medium-sized sign and print shops. Benefits are said to combine the print quality of a water-based thermal inkjet printer with the outdoor durability of a solvent printer and the media versatility and cost savings of a UV-curable inkjet printer.
The four variants are: the four-colour 5440UV, two times four-colour 5445UV, six-colour 5460UV and the two times six-colour 5465UV. All have a 137cm print width and feature a set of integrated folding tables that can extend to accommodate rigid media in excess of 244cm in length. The tables fold down for printing roll-fed media, conserving precious floor space.
Managing director, Jeff Biggs, said: “This is our tenth consecutive year at Sign UK and as usual, we have got some exciting products on display, including a UK first with the ColorSpan 5400uv. We encourage end users and resellers to come and see the latest UV inkjet flatbed technology, as well as a new Epson printer from Colourgen designed to offer the four-colour photo black ink capabilities that many customers have been waiting for.”
Suitable for low-cost, fast point-of-sale applications that require a photo black, the new Epson Stylus Pro 9400-Film printer will be demonstrating a film separation application with ColorGATE FilmGATE on the Colourgen stand.
Other new products on show will include the Seal AS1600 liquid laminator which offers roll-to-roll finishing capabilities and is said to provide fast, efficient and uniform coatings for outdoor signage applications. The laminator is described as an inexpensive and reliable finishing solution that can help printing businesses save time and increase profitability. Also from Seal, the 62 Base will be displayed as the ideal solution for mounting and laminating pressure sensitive solutions up to 1,575mm.
Finally, Colourgen will be showing a laminator from the Royal Sovereign range designed to offer maximum price/performance.
