Planning is everything
Fespa is big. Over 600 vendors occupying 32,000m2 of exhibition space across 11 halls. Given these numbers it would be wise to plan your visit. Our 23-page preview is designed to help you do just that. Now lets hear from Fespa’s managing director Frazer Chesterman
Frazer said: “Fespa 2007 is this year’s number one destination for anyone planning to invest in screen or digital wide format printing equipment. The event will feature the world’s leading vendors, many of whom typically use Fespa exhibitions to showcase their full range of products and solutions, not to mention brand new products. It will also provide a myriad of complementary educational opportunities via the extensive programme of showcase theatre seminars.”
New digital product launches planned for the show include the European debut of the MacDermid ColorSpan 5400uv series of all-in-one UV inkjet printers; a brand new addition to Durst’s Rho family of flatbed inkjet printers; and the introduction of Gandinnovations’ Jeti 2030 UV TRUE flatbed printer. Regarding new screen printing products, Servis Centrum will premier its Magra 3⁄4 automatic screen printing machine and Vastex will be showing its new entry-level press, the V-1000 and the new E-1000 exposure unit.
Over past months Screen Process and Digital Imaging’s Fespa column has highlighted a range of exhibition related issues from the need for face-to-face communication to specific innovations such as the Sensations portfolio. So, to conclude the series, we summarise some Fespa specials.
A delicious range of multicultural cuisine will be served at Fespa’s last night Gala Evening, held at the Axel-Springer-Halle, one of Berlin’s exclusive entertainment venues. This internationally flavoured evening will be one of the most glamorous events that visitors can attend during their stay in Berlin.
Visitors from the UK, China, Spain, Poland and Italy will benefit from the National Pavilions representing their countries. The pavilions are dedicated areas featuring local suppliers and distributors, designed to offer visitors from those countries a focal point and the opportunity to network.
Those keen to discuss industry matters with fellow printers and suppliers will have plenty of opportunities during the Digital Debate, taking place on Thursday 7 June at 1.00pm in the Digital Showcase Theatre, H25. The debate will feature a panel of experts from the digital arena discussing future opportunities and addressing questions from the audience.
Those interested in fashion and textiles should visit the live workshops held by textile industry experts, such as Charlie Taublieb of Taublieb Consulting, in the Screen Printing Showcase Theatre in H1.1
Fespa 2007 and the city of Berlin offer many attractions to excite the senses, not least of which is the Fespa Sensations book, designed to celebrate the unique special effects that screen printing is capable of. Examples will be on display and the Sensations book will be showcased at Fespa’s stand. Visitors interested in learning more about inks should visit Marabu (H2.2 B410) and Sun Chemical (H1.2 A440).
