From display graphics to CAD
DCP Systems has announced the arrival of HP’s Z6100 series inkjets. The 42 and 60in machines (PostScript versions to follow) suit display graphics, posters and photos, plus GIS, CAD, maps and fine art.
DCP’s sales director, Darren Walker, said: “These new printers from HP have been worth the wait, delivering exactly what the industry needs now. Speed and high quality are the essence of any organisation demanding the best in wide format digital print and this series of machines takes a quantum leap over its highly reliable forerunner, delivering dependability, even higher reliability and repeatability at even higher speed.”
Features include an embedded Greta Macbeth-based i1 Color spectrophotometer and optical media sensor. A double swathe ink delivery system with staggered print heads is designed to speed output without sacrificing quality. High volume capability includes 574ft long media roll capacity and 775ml ink cartridges.
From an array of 2,112 nozzles in each print head, the machine delivers 4pl droplets for light cyan, light magenta, light green and photo black, plus 6pl droplets for cyan, magenta, yellow and medium black. The printers can run the eight colour set or double up on CMYmK inks.
The Z6100 prints at up to 720ft2/hr on coated paper and 252ft2/hr on glossy paper, achieving best quality results at 147ft2/hr on coated paper and 98ft2/hr on glossy paper. Maximum print speed on plain paper is 1134ft2/hr.
