Upgrade offers speed without expense
Large format distributor, Atech, has completed its first upgrade on an original Chromira printer using the new 5X upgrade path. In fact two companies, Loxley Colour in Glasgow and Colorset Graphics in London, took the step to improve their first generation Chromira 50 printers, increasing speeds by up to five times without losing quality.
Atech’s managing director, Allan Ashman, explained: “Chromira has enabled us to offer fast and affordable graphics with a simple upgrade rather than forcing customers to buy a new printer.”
With the ability to image 30 and 50in wide prints full bleed and with unlimited imaging length, the Chromira 5 by 30 and 5 by 50 are ideal for custom and commercial imagers. With the 5X capability, the printers deliver large-format imaging speeds of 20 to 25in per minute and can also handle high volumes of individual image files for an efficient workflow. As standard, the Chromira 5x has a working resolution of 300ppi, however for higher image quality, Chromira utilises ZBE's patented resolution enhancement technology, which achieves a visual resolution of 425ppi at production speed.
