Palm Signs has installed the UK’s first Océ Arizona 250 GT

Signage specialist, Palm Signs, has installed the UK’s first Océ Arizona 250 GT at its Greenfield site in North Wales.

The equipment, which is expected to improve efficiency and increase productivity by 100 per cent, will allow Palm Signs to expand into new market sectors, such as point-of-sale, as well as enhancing its current services, including signage, panels, posters and exhibition work.

Palm Signs managing director, Brian Butler, said: “We are delighted to be the first company in the UK to install an Océ Arizona 250 GT. Our projections show that it will be more than twice as fast and twice as productive as our previous solution. For example, a job that used to take three people a day could be completed by two in just over half a day, allowing us to pass a cost-saving to our customers.

We chose this model because of its output quality and the fact it can print on a range of media. Reliability is also good, which is vital in our market sector. Our customers have been impressed with the samples and we are confident it will have a positive impact on our business.”

Ideal for producing a variety of display graphics, the Arizona 250 GT is capable of producing point-of-purchase displays, limited-term signage, banners, event graphics, backlit and reflective rigid displays, transit advertising and directional signage. It uses UV curable inks and Océ VariaDot imaging technology which is said to offer near-photographic image quality with ink savings of up to 35 per cent over fixed-droplet printers.

Océ UK’s business unit director of wide format printing systems, Wilbert Verheyen, said: “Palm Signs and its customers will quickly see the benefits of the Océ Arizona 250 GT. It will allow the company to deliver exceptional quality, productivity and flexibility across a range of projects, setting it apart from its competitors.”
