Fifty readers celebrate sixty years of retail inspiration
Fifty readers could get their hands on the latest Shop and Display Equipment Association (sdea) guide for free. The first 50 to enquire will receive a copy of the sdea directory 2007/2008, designed to give shopfitting buyers, visual merchandisers, retail designers and brand owners insight into the association’s selected retail display specialists.
The latest edition of the handbook is divided into five sections, allowing readers to locate the right supplier. The A-Z guide lists all companies with full contact details, plus an overview of their activities. There is a photo gallery of products, with guides to the services and retail trades in which each company specialises. Finally, there is also a geographical guide and a trade names index, all of which ensures that suppliers can be identified quickly.
More ideas and inspiration can be found in the retail reviews section, dedicated to the latest retail design concepts. Three fashion companies lead the way: H&M’s new fashion venture, COS, on Regent Street, Primark's new flagship store on Oxford Street and New Look's top level city market store in Nottingham. In the specialist retail market, the new London Transport Museum Shop gives a contemporary face to a tired service, while Piramyd demonstrates new retail ideas in its department stores in India.
As sdea celebrates 60-years in the retail display industry, this year's guide also includes a special feature on ‘the future of retail’. Heidi Easton interviews two retail designers, Stefan Zachary of Zachary Design and David Dalziel of Dalziel and Pow for an insight into the future of retail design over the next 60-years.
Normally priced at £10, the directory is available free to the first 50 readers to email enquiries@sdea.co.uk.
