Acquisition creates terrific trade supply
Trade only graphics paper and film converter, Isca Technical Papers and Films, claims to be the UK’s largest trade supplier of inkjet, laser, copier and drafting materials following its acquisition of Swift Converters, a company that had in turn bought out Fairfield Converters.
Both Swift and Fairfield were well established suppliers to the reprographics industry selling to graphic art studios, reprographic outlets, copy shops, sign makers, architects, planners and office equipment suppliers via distributors. Isca has acquired the stock, goodwill and brand names of both companies and now says it has one of the largest product portfolios to offer the trade.
Isca’s product development manager, Daniel Wood, said: “Times are difficult with rising raw material costs forcing mills to put up prices. Having integrated the Swift and Fairfield product ranges into our portfolio, we will continue to convert graphics papers and films cost-effectively. We have invested in high technology equipment and have spent considerable time developing our service package.”
Previous customers of Swift, now doing business directly with Isca, are assured that the same grades and qualities will be available alongside the Isca range which now includes 175µ (215µ coated) and 215µ (355µ coated) roll-up and pop-up films. The extra thickness of these films is said to deliver a rigid, curl-free product with a dense black and 98 per cent opacity and a tri-laminate base material designed to eliminate de-lamination and splitting issues.
Tony McKay explained: “Because we do not sell direct to end users, but through trade distributors, we are independent and can listen to the heartbeat of the market, developing products to match. It also means we don’t compete with our own customers.”
