Successful PoP
Having worked with Popai’s Technical Working Group for some years, Screen Process and Digital imaging magazine is introducing a regular column detailing the Group’s activities. The series starts by highlighting a seminar designed to explore the processes behind successful PoP.
Scheduled for 03 October, The Innovation Centre, De Montfort University, Leicester, the seminar will focus on new techniques in efficient design and development of in-store display products.
Organised by the Popai retail marketing trade association and supported by De Montfort University’s Retail Efficient Design (RED) Initiative, the event is designed to provide an insight into the design and development process behind creative 2D and 3D point-of-purchase display products.
Aimed at designers, technicians, CAD engineers and sales/marketing personnel, the seminar will provide a platform for exploring new software and process innovations. Topics include: resource efficient design and manufacturing; 3D creative design and CAD engineering; and 2D CAD engineering into manufacture (showcases from Autodesk and RADAN).
Head of Popai’s Technical Working Group, Andrew Hempsall, said: “The seminar is a must for anyone looking to enhance their knowledge of the design and development process. The latest technological advancements are not only helping to streamline existing processes and reduce the need for full prototypes, but are also leading to increases in the effectiveness of display material, which will ultimately drive greater return-on-investment from in-store campaigns.”
The day will feature live demonstrations, utilising The Innovation Centre’s advanced rapid prototyping facility, offering attendees the chance to witness a product’s journey from concept to prototype.
