Blizzard offers great visibility
Wide-format piezo inkjet printer manufacturer, Mutoh Europe, has extended its range with the Blizzard series of variable drop mild-solvent printers. Designed to offer impeccable quality up to 40m2/h, with a top speed of 80m2/h, there are two models to chose from: Blizzard 65 with width of 1,640mm and Blizzard 90 with a print width of 2,230mm.
Targeted at small sign businesses that require versatility or larger operations that want to extend flexibility, both models are capable of printing directly onto standard uncoated vinyl, banner and soft signage. Applications encompass corporate signs, stage and window graphics, backlit box signage, construction announcements, vehicle graphics, indoor graphics and floor graphics.
To achieve these results, the Blizzard uses Mutoh’s mild-solvent ink, tuned for the sign industry. This resists cleaners, detergents and degreasers and offers an outdoor durability on compatible media of up to three years without lamination. For heavy duty applications where mechanical stress is involved such as floor and vehicle graphics, lamination is required. Mutoh mild-solvent inks are available in 220 and 440ml cassettes and the printers also accept Mutoh's Eco-Solvent Ultra inks.
For combined speed and quality, the Blizzard features two head sets in a mirco-staggered layout. Each of the eight incorporated drop-on-demand piezo inkjet heads has two rows of 180 nozzles with each row delivered by an independent ink channel. Each head allows print resolutions of 360 by 360, 720 by 360, 540 by 720 and 720 by 720dpi.
Mutoh Europe’s managing director, Arthur Vanhoutte, said: “Blizzard printers are specifically targeted at sign shops looking for a flexible machine capable of producing both speed oriented production work up to 40m2/h and top quality print work.
“Our intelligent interweaving technology enables a more constant print quality and enables us to define guaranteed output quality. We have also developed dedicated print modes, which can be used depending on the type of image to be printed, the type of print job and the intended viewing distance. We are sure the Blizzard can achieve production output quality on all available engine speeds and we are convinced that the 80m2/h top speed will be used for production of products such as billboards.”
