To meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly production of interior and exterior display graphics and signs, Lightbrigade has introduced its Greengraphix printing solution.

Designed to address ecological requirements, the Greengraphix programme helps reduce a client's carbon footprint by using safer materials, inks and processes.

With national retailers and agencies among its clients, Lightbrigade supplies wide and super-wide-format graphics for a range of displays including billboards, building wraps, banners and signs. Because many of its customers are striving to be more environmentally aware, the Greengraphix option incorporates eco-friendly materials and inks which have been manufactured in factories free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

To fulfil these obligations, Lightbrigade uses a bio-solvent ink formulation manufactured from corn, which is a renewable resource. The inks are used with an EFI Vutek roll-fed wide-format ink-jet printer and are said to produce accurate colours with strong bonding to uncoated surfaces and good resistance to UV light and mechanical wear. The inks, which are recognised by the US Environmental Protection Agency, are also said to run in high-production environments and provide excellent print quality.

Materials and production methods in the Greengraphix package also

help Lightbrigade reduce waste and eliminate hazards. Fabrics are manufactured free from PVC resins, heavy metals, fungicides or phthalates yet incorporate fire proofing requirements.
