Consolidation produces top pop supplier
This DeWalt pop unit is an example of newly formed SDI Displays' capabilities which now span the complete pop supply chain
Point of purchase and retail display specialists, SDI Display and Vivid Retail, both part of the AAC Group, have been merged into a single company operating as SDI Displays. Bringing together a range of skills and services targeted at retailers and sellers of branded goods, the new company claims to fulfil the complete supply chain for pop displays from concept to design, through prototyping to manufacture and volume roll out.
MD of the new enterprise, John Cook, said: "Top retailers and brands need to partner the best in the industry and with the size and capabilities of the consolidated company, that is what we offer. We can provide services from design concept through to finished product, combining the design and manufacturing facilities of two companies to provide bespoke display solutions. In future, we intend to expand our capabilities further and will look to acquisitions to enhance our position." In its new format, SDI Displays has over 14,0000ft2 of UK manufacturing space and the ability to produce displays in a range of materials including sheet metal, wire, wood, board and acrylics. Recent investment in production equipment has added laser cutting machines for high volume, close tolerance processing of acrylic components to the existing vacuum forming, injection moulding and CNC cutting facilities. Integrated production routes have been introduced to reduce lead times and ensure volume production capacity.
