Europe, home of plastics innovation
Renolit Profession is the name the company has given to the plastic film market for stationery and diverse technical applications
When the existing factory suffered serious fire damage in January 2006, the company had a decision to make. Rebuild the factory on the old site in the picturesque town of Estella, Northern Spain or make a commitment to a new future with a state-of-the-art factory outside the town. Time was of the essence, so within only six-months not only had the decision been made, but the first stone of the brand new factory had been laid.
Standing on a 20,000m2 site in Villatuerta (near Estella), the new factory claims the title of the most modern calendering facility in Europe, if not the world. All the company's calendering experience over six decades has been invested in the factory design. The aim is manufacturing excellence in plastic films. Workflow has been optimised and state of the art technology has been employed to ensure efficiency and quality.
The three calenders and one shrink film line are capable of manufacturing over 22,000 tonnes/year. However, there is much more to the new Renolit Hispania than bricks, mortar and technology. Having retained the skills and dedication of all its 150 employees the organisation is ideally positioned to win new markets. Its core business will be stationery films, but the company is determined to use its broad market knowledge and technical expertise to partner customers in the development of new and exciting products. Plastics technology never stands still and the opportunities for new technical applications are infinite.
The investment in this new facility demonstrates Renolit's commitment to the plastic films industry as a whole and above all to the future of calendering in Europe. Renolit Hispania belongs to the twenty-first century. It's remit is to look forward, not back, and together with its customers will strengthen and build the plastics films market.
Opaque stationery films
With its new range of opaque colours for stationery applications, Renolit is making its mark on the future. Manufactured in Spain, the new collection includes 38 colours all with a light laser (leather) emboss. All colours are available from UK stock, plus a range of transparent semi-rigid films and several leather-look print effects. If customers cannot find the right colour in the standard range, a colour matching facility lets them specify exactly the colour they want and get a minimum quantity manufactured.
New colour swatches will be available in March.
Adding value

Based in Bedford (with warehouse and film processing facilities), Renolit Profession supplies the UK with a stock range of films used to make hundreds of different products.
