DuPont helps students meet course deadlines

Students at Middlesex University using DuPont's Cromalin Largo wide-format proofers to print art projects and photographic coursework are more likely to hand their work in on time, thanks to the high print speed of the two models installed on site.

Senior reprographic technician, Andrew Geddes, explained: “The two new DuPont machines were installed in July 2006 primarily to print student’s graphic arts coursework. The high volume of students following Art & Design courses means that many can be left waiting for coursework to be printed at the last minute, so high-speed printers were imperative to ensure that students meet tight deadlines. The Cromalin Largos’ print speed provides peace of mind, enabling students to focus on producing the best quality work.”

The two machines will also provide capacity for the University to take on printing work from local businesses, increasing the revenue that can be put back into the treasury.

Colour accuracy is also essential in the student’s coursework, so the Cromalin Largos’ Cromanet CS RIP and colour management software are key benefits. This is said to enhance the impact of the final printed work with accurate and consistent colour.

Geddes concluded: “The University had owned a DuPont Cromalin b2 for one year before installing the two Cromalin Largos and were delighted with the fast delivery and technical support. We are confident that their fast output and colour standards will address our needs for quality work, printed fast.”
