James McNaughton Group was recognised as the business mileage runner up in the Fleet Hero Awards
Going the extra mile to ensure its transport strategies are energy-efficient has won the James McNaughton Group a position as runner up in the business mileage category of the Fleet Hero Awards. Hosted by the Energy Saving Trust in partnership with The Observer and Fleet News, the event aims to highlight best practice in fleet management by recognising organisations who have tackled CO2 emissions from business travel.
Overall the event recognised efforts such as reducing the total mileage travelled, reducing emissions from private cars used on business, using technology innovatively and leading by example to help reduce carbon emissions.
CEO of the Energy Saving Trust, Philip Sellwood, said: "The winners and runners up in the Fleet Heroes Awards have taken simple, practical steps which not only help the environment but also save money and resources. They provide an example to any business or organisation that operates a fleet - no matter what size."
McNaughton director for corporate responsibility, Howard Browning, added: "Actively reducing our business miles is just one of many initiatives that the James McNaughton Group has taken to reduce its carbon footprint, as part of its sustainable solutions program."
