Presenter of the BBC's Coast programme, Nicholas Crane, (centre) likened today's environmental challenge to the industrial revolution, with rewards for those who embrace it

Norfolk printing business, Breckland Print, was able to share the success of its environmental initiatives by delivering a presentation at the Prosperity in a Sustainable World conference. The event was organised by Norfolk County Council and led by presenter of BBC's Coast programme, Nicholas Crane, in a bid to encourage organisations to adopt the green agenda in the county.

Breckland's message at the seminar was that printing doesn't have to cost the earth. Managing director, Philip Colchester, explained: "Our initiatives to reduce spoilage, water consumption and energy and the eradication of chemicals in our plate-making process have reduced the environmental impact of our operations. We see our green policy as a business imperative which ultimately saves cash and ensures our customers can source their print requirements responsibly."

As part of the Colchester Print Group, Breckland Print is one of the largest commercial printers in East Anglia with a long-standing green policy which has been recognised with regional and national awards, including a BPIF Excellence Award.
