What's on at the theatre?
Sign and Digital UK returns to the NEC this month, 22 to 24 April, with a host of seminars, workshops and theatres covering topics from software to heat printing.
Environmental issues will take centre stage in the Sign and Digital UK theatre. Robert Horne's Steve Lister will look at the issues surrounding greener products, while Greenprint Consultancy's Steve Wicks will focus on marketing environmentally responsible activities to customers. Other topics include dye sublimation and heat printing, with presentations from two US specialists: Sawgrass Technologies and Great Garment Graphics.
Re-launching at the show, the UK trade association for print specialists and manufacturers, the DSPA, will also make an appearance in the Sign and Digital theatre. DSPA president, Peter Kiddell and business manager, John Keith, will be on-hand to answer questions on this resource.
The Walsall College theatre will return with a series of masterclasses encompassing topics from vehicle wrapping to the benefits of white ink. Run in conjunction with Roland DG, the classes are designed to demonstrate techniques and skills for trainees and those looking to expand their skill base.
Finally, Adobe and Corel will be running their own workshops sharing hints, tips and advice on the use of their applications. The Adobe theatre will see Terry Steeley, of Iridius, conducting workshops on Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional, while Apple's Richard West, will be looking at OS X Leopard. Seminars from Corel will focus on CorelDraw Graphics Suite X4 and Corel Photo-Paint X4.
