Maximum effort for minimum waste
Super-wide format graphic display producer, MediaCo, aims to recycle 100 per cent of its waste this year, with no waste going to landfill. Having achieved ISO14001 accreditation in 2007, the Manchester-based company, which runs its own in-house recycling facility, has enforced a strict environmental management system (EMS) focusing on every aspect of waste reduction.
Managing director, Mark Wardle, said: "We are aware of our environmental responsibility and our impact as a producer of large-scale graphic displays. The 100 per cent landfill-free target requires careful planning and communication with our customers. We already offer collection and recycling of used displays to our outdoor clients and we plan to roll-out the same service to our entire client base."
All of the materials currently used by MediaCo can be reprocessed on-site and supplied to partners who recycle in a variety of ways. The chain is completed with the production of, amongst other things, traffic cone bases and health and safety barriers. MediaCo has also implemented an in-house waste processing test programme for pre-commissioning testing of any new material.
