A new name, new logo and new business initiatives will be unveiled by the DSPA at Sign and Digital UK. The trade association for print specialists and manufacturers will be re-launching its services in a bid to better reflect the needs of today's imaging specialists and the changes will be heralded by a presentation on the first day of Sign and Digital UK.
Newly appointed DSPA business manager, John Keith, explained: "The UK printing industry is constantly changing and creating new challenges and it is our job to adapt our services accordingly. By implementing our new goals, we aim to better support the competitiveness, profitability and productiveness of print specialists and manufacturers across the UK. We will continue to offer advice and educational support as we have done for the last seventy years, however, the new-look association will be building on these resources and introducing additional services to further assist its members on the road to a successful business."
Demonstrating its support for the industry, the association will be hosting two seminars at Sign and Digital UK, which will be open to members and non-members alike. On 23 April, John Keith will explain how printers can increase profit margins by implementing simple processes and incorporating value-added services. The seminar is designed to help visitors tackle increasing cost pressures as raw material prices escalate, labour costs decrease in Eastern Europe and the threat from competition in the Far East grows. The second seminar, which will take place 24 April, will focus on the different wide format inkjet technologies on the market and how the DSPA's growing involvement in the inkjet sector is vital to the growth of this market in the UK.
John Keith concluded: "The association should offer its members something more than they can provide for themselves in order for them to make faster progress. This has always been our aim but we are confident that the new organisation will be fully-equipped to better meet the needs of a changing industry."
