EskoArtwork's new Czech manufacturing facility will maintain quality and boost production capacity of the Kongsberg cutting table
Production capacity at EskoArtwork has doubled with the introduction of a new manufacturing facility in Brno, Czech Republic. The new site is dedicated to producing the company's Kongsberg dieless cutting and creasing tables and has been established to keep pace with demand from both the packaging and sign and display industries.
The new site will operate as a manufacturing subsidiary, while the original manufacturing facility in Kongsberg, Norway, will remain the CAM technology and research and development centre, with specific focus on new products and critical sub-assemblies.
EskoArtwork senior vice president, CAM and supply chain, Nicolai Gradman, said: "Kongsberg has a track record for reliability and most tables manufactured 15 to 20 years ago are still in operation. The tables deliver a robust set of features, able to perform contour finishing on both rigid and flexible materials with fast tool changeover."
During the last 10 years, EskoArtwork has installed more than 2,500 Kongsberg tables worldwide, with virtually all still in daily production, cutting and creasing materials according to CAD instructions for packaging or point of sale materials. Over the past few years the tables have been introduced to sign and display companies with successful results and a growing market share. This prompted the Kongsberg management team to increase its production capacity by building a complementary manufacturing site to absorb growth.
EskoArtwork president and CEO, Carsten Knudsen, concluded: "We have had an excellent start in Brno and have a strong manufacturing team in place. Employees have been trained in Kongsberg for periods of three to six months to understand our manufacturing technique and we are confident that tables produced at this facility will continue to deliver our trademark quality."
