Point of sale displays manufactured by Belgian screen printing company, Now Screen Printing, utilise the latest Autotype Capillex CP photostencil film from MacDermid Autotype to produce high definition, 150lpi images, with no need for lacquers.

The photostencil film has a controlled profile designed specifically for four-colour printing with extremely fine lines. The low stencil profile and the optimised Rz support dot reproduction and dot reproducibility from one sheet to the other and because the profile is low, ink build is reduced to a minimum without causing print failure problems or skipping effects. The film is also said to be easy to handle, giving excellent results in high speed production.

Managing director of Now Screen Printing, Serge Mortie: said: "Large displays and posters are meant to be seen from a distance, so a resolution of 150lpi is not justified, however with halftone visuals, the difference in dot size between 133 and 150lpi is enormous and this is where Autotype Capillex CP plays a crucial role. In particular, it enables us to print fine detail with no problem. Also, Autotype Capillex CP and UV inks make it possible to obtain the low ink build that is so important in our field."

Now Screen Printing typically uses Autotype Capillex CP on 150 threads per cm, plain weave mesh. This helps reduce UV ink spread under the surface of the stencil, resulting in good dot definition and a focused print.
