Total Print! Expo - Maximise print efficiency
Alongside a range of wide format inkjet and toner-based digital presses, Fujifilm will reveal how version 2.0 of its XMF workflow can improve short run printing, irrespective of the printing process.
Built around JDF and the Adobe PDF print engine, XMF is inherently efficient at processing PDF files and maximising job turnaround, both of which are critical in short run printing. XMF really comes into its own however, when handling multiple print processes thanks to automated Fujifilm imposition and colour management engines. This means a print job can be switched from one type of press to another at the click of a button, with the job automatically re-imposed and colour managed to suit the new press. This helps ensure colour consistency across multiple print processes as well as automating previously time-consuming tasks.
New features targeted at improving digital printing include: a new version of XMF C-Fit which has the ability to automatically optimise a PDF for digital printing, a new Fujifilm colour engine which optimises the toner usage on a Xerox DocuColor press and XMF Remote, which improves on-line collaboration and approval functionality.
