Users of Mutoh wide format inkjet printing equipment can now specify biofriendly inks from EFI-Inkware's BioWare range. The agreement includes Mubio inks, which are a low viscosity version of the BioWare inks, recognised by the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Design for Environment program.

Mutoh's general manager, Randy Rickert, said: "Mubio inks comprise 80 per cent plant-derived substances (corn), contain no harmful VOCs and with their low viscosity, they offer faster drying times. This will help customers optimise their ValueJet 1608 Hybrid printers for business growth with a reduced environmental footprint. We have installed several ValueJet 1608 Hybrid printers using Mubio inks and have received rave reviews."

Jointly developed by EFI-Inkware and Mutoh, Mubio inks are designed to ensure maximum efficiency, quality and range of output when used with the ValueJet 1608 Hybrid. The inks are claimed to perform well on rigid media, broadening the array of applications that can be produced using the ValuJet 1608 Hybrid printer.
