Designed with a special coating for improved ink adhesion, Alupanel Digital is a new aluminum composite panel, said to deliver vibrant and long-lasting images, even when subject to UK weather.
Manufacturer, Multipanel, claims the product's flat, white surface is the ideal base for direct digital printing. Print performance can be further enhanced through profiling so supplier, Perspex Distribution, is offering the product with a free of charge, bespoke ICC profile.
Customers print a colour chart with known amounts of CMYK. The colour patches are then measured using a spectrophotometer and the results are recorded, including the density, colour and fluorescence of the ink. Working from these measurements, a CMYK reference library is established. This is the ICC output profile, which can be uploaded to a printer's RIP.
This eliminates the need for time consuming and expensive make-readys with accurate and repeatable colour from the first print to the last.
