A UK distribution agreement will see the Paper Company (PaperCo) offer Gandinnovations' complete range of solvent, aqueous and UV grand format technologies. This will extend PaperCo's digital inkjet portfolio, which also includes solutions from Roland DG for outdoor signage and Canon's aqueous machines for indoor graphics. This enhanced line-up will support the commercial print sector, offering traditional litho companies complementary revenue streams and higher profit margins.

PaperCo's digital and technical solutions manager, Phil Tomlinson, said: "Gandinnovations' grand format machines offer precision and reliability and represent an opportunity for PaperCo to develop its digital inkjet business. The addition will extend our presence in the high volume sector and provide printers with the equipment to produce stunning POP and POS graphics."

This part of the PaperCo business will be overseen by UV inkjet specialist, Steve Peet, who has practical experience in the screen printing industry and was a manager at Europoint Display for 15 years.

The Gandinnovations range includes 10 models, all of which are available to the UK market via PaperCo. The portfolio includes 3.3 and 5.1m wide solvent roll-to-roll printers, UV roll-to-roll machines, aqueous-based fabric roll-to-roll, as well as Gandinnovations UV flatbed models.

Steve Peet added: "Grand format allows commercial printers to develop lucrative revenue streams. It's complementary to litho and opens up the potential for traditional printers to provide high value signage, POS and POP graphics alongside litho work, in integrated marketing campaigns."
