Get set for digital ceramics
Printhead manufacturer, Xaar, has approved a range of inks from ceramic tile ink specialist, Chimigraf.
Ink product manager at Xaar, Dr Jill Woods, explained: "Digital printing in the ceramics industry is at an early stage but is forecast to grow rapidly with many traditional flexo and screen applications replaced by flexible digital alternatives.
"Our latest Xaar 1001 printhead features a hybrid side shooter (HSS) design, incorporating TF Technology, which sends ink past each nozzle orifice, keeping the channels primed and operational. This means it can jet complex fluids, such as ceramic inks, consistently and reliably. Working closely with ceramic ink specialists ensures that end users have a choice of inks, all of which will produce good results when used with Xaar printheads."
Inkjet product manager for Chimigraf, Daniel Miravete, added: "We continuously fine tune our products to new presses and substrates. The digital ink market is increasingly important so we want to work closely with inkjet suppliers, such as Xaar, to deliver a high-quality and reliable solution."
