DCP Systems has announce that demonstration units of its Epson 24in Stylus Pro 7900 and 44in Stylus Pro 9900 series are available at its Sheffield-based Epson Centre of Excellence.
Both printers use a new 5th generation pigment ink available in 350ml and 700ml cartridges. This ink set expands on Epson's UltraChrome K3 with vivid magenta by adding orange and green inks. Orange contributes to reducing the graininess in skin tone.
The optional Epson SpectroProofer tool claims to turn these products into consistent and repeatable proof verification and printer calibration solutions.
Other new technologies include: automatic switching between photo and matte black; an integral automatic media rotary knife cutting system; a spindleless roll holder mechanism; automatic paper set/release mechanism; and Epson's automatic nozzle check technology.
