Jessup's GloBrite photoluminescent film is compatible with UV cure ink and on-demand digital printing processes

Suitable for use with UV cure ink and on-demand digital printing processes, Jessup Manufacturing Company is aiming its GloBrite photoluminescent film squarely at the sign and safety industry.

Constructed from polyester, with the addition of a metallised base for opacity and dimensional stability, GloBrite is an ideal medium for the creation of emergency and safety signage. With security concerns on the rise, this growth market is keen to embrace the migration from screen-printing to wide format digital printing due to the benefits of on-demand flexibility, speed and simplicity. Jessup's GloBrite film helps meet this demand, with the ability to produce high quality, custom signs, swiftly.

One of the factors that make this possible, is GloBrite's compatibility with UV ink printing. Unlike traditional pigment, solvent and eco-solvent based solutions which require a top coat to stabilise the surface, GloBrite photoluminescent film is directly compatible with UV inks. Users can print straight onto its durable polyester topcoat using either a sheet-fed or roll-fed system. In comparison with vinyl based films, Jessup also claims that GloBrite will remain free of shrinkage and edge curl.

Feedback from the sign and safety industry is positive as demonstrated by Swedish company, Collinder Märksystems, which is using Jessup GloBrite photoluminescent film with its Zünd UV 215 Plus system. Managing director, Bjorn Collinder, explained: “We can print signs on GloBrite faster and more economically, enabling us to respond rapidly to one off and customised requests. GloBrite allows us to deliver high quality photoluminescent signage with reduced production times.”
