Great prizes up for grabs
This month we are offering one lucky reader the chance to win a personalised Mimaki printed photoblock and iPhone cover courtesy of Mimaki's exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland - Hybrid Services Ltd. All you have to do is answer the simple question below.
High quality
The award winning Mimaki UJF-3042 printer is a high quality, A3 format, flatbed machine with UV print heads which mean it's capable of printing onto almost any solid objects up to 50mm thick. Featuring white ink, clear varnish and 1200dpi printheads, it makes for the perfect machine to produce short runs of high end promotional products, branded items and small, rigid signs and will fit into a manufacturing workflow with ease.
The four colour, photo quality LED UV printheads are complimented by both a bright, opaque white and a clear varnish which can create stunning results. Adding opacity to a print onto clear material or finishing a design with spot varnish enables incredible creative effects to be produced, adding value to a personalised print onto almost any item. Hybrid's customers currently imprint pens, electronics covers, golf balls, badges, nameplates, small format rigid signage, labels, speakers, wooden USB sticks, automative controls, glassware, tiles - the list is practically endless.
A complete bed print (approximately 32 pens, a dozen phone covers or four A5 photoblocks) takes between four and eight minutes and the addition of white doesn't hinder progress either. The staggered head array means white printing - either below or on top of the process output - does not affect the speed of the machine. A photoblock, for example, is produced by printing in reverse to flame polished acrylic. The process colours are fired first, and the staggered white head follows along behind, typically laying down a flood white.
For other duties though, the white can be used in perfect registration thanks to the vacuum bed and excellent repeatability of the printer. Be it producing an opaque print onto a coloured substrate or enhancing effects on clear materials, the white can run behind even the finest of keylines ensuring a consistently high quality of output. Mimaki's newly released clear ink adds a further creative capability, adding texture and highlights to a job. Thanks to the inherent raised profile of the printed Mimaki UV ink, even Braille is possible.
The Mimaki UJF-3042 is available through Hybrid's authorised reseller network and more details are available about the product, along with the whole of Mimaki's range of solutions by visiting www.hybridservices.co.uk
