No trees, no worries
Bagasse is a new eco-friendly, recyclable grade product from Papeterie Zuber Rieder. The range is suitable for luxury packaging, greetings cards, business cards, invitations, annual reports and advertising purposes and is available in the UK from Papico.
Products in the Bagasse range are based on an eco-design approach, stretching from growing the raw material to disposing of the product. This is said to present a sustainable solution when it comes to paper and board selection.
Bagasse is produced using by-products from sugar cane production, plus linen and hemp grown on fallow land. No trees are used in the manufacture of Bagasse, making it a low-energy consumption product both in terms of production and transformation. Furthermore, linen and hemp require little pesticide, weed-killer, fertiliser and irrigation and the end product is fully recyclable.
