Thieme has developed a new generation of screen printing multi-colour lines. The series 5000L, available immediately for 1,600 by 2,100mm and 1,600 by 2,600mm formats, is designed to offer the highest printing performance.
Users should appreciate new features including automatic adaptation to different sheet formats and materials. The operator inputs the sheet format and the system automatically activates the corresponding vacuum zones and deactivates unrequired zones.
Registration has been simplified by a lay guide. The sheet is automatically fed towards the leading edge stop blocks where its correct position is verified via optical sensors. The servo driven vacuum lay guide assumes a position corresponding with the programmed sheet width.
Each printing station features a master control unit, for controlling line and safety functions. Job data can be stored and recalled, shortening set-up times. An error diagnostic system, aids rapid error diagnosis and rectification.
The new machines are also more energy efficient. With the optional replacement of the UV dryer transformer with an electronic ballast (EVG), effective power consumption can be reduced by up to 15 per cent and connection power by up to 30 per cent.
