Cut ink costs without cutting quality
As a supplier keen to meet all printing requirements including screen, litho, UV and digital inks, blankets, screen stretching and ink mixes, YPS wanted to find a quality alternative digital ink which would perform to OEM ink standards.
The company teamed up with Josero at the beginning of the year to sell Triangle inks and has enjoyed huge success with the product so far.
YPS managing director, Garry Brown, said: "After looking at several inks and testing them rigorously we chose Triangle because they out-performed the others. Each ink trial ran over a couple of days. Test charts were printed using OEM inks on a variety of media and the OEM ink was flushed out. The same tests were then printed on all the different media using the trial inks.
"Triangle inks offered a great match with OEM inks. We often take samples from the OEM and Triangle inks and ask customers to spot the difference. On many occasions customers have preferred the Triangle ink sample.
"Triangle inks are not the cheapest, but the quality is excellent - they offer savings on OEM inks while maintaining performance. Furthermore, the product and service support we receive from Josero, the UK distributor of Triangle inks, is superb."
Easy installation
Garry Brown continued: "YPS sends a service engineer and provides a mini-service with every installation. Reliability is important to us and occasionally we have turned customers away if their machine is not well maintained.
"The machines we have converted to Triangle inks so far have been simple and straightforward. Our engineer carries out nozzle checks and prints test images using the installed inks to check the printer is fully functioning. The old ink is then flushed out and the Triangle ink is installed. This is then followed by more nozzle checks and test prints to ensure the customer is happy with the printer before the engineer leaves the site. The whole installation is completed within a couple of hours and so far all the results have been tremendous.
"One of our customers, 24-7, originally converted their JV3 to Triangle inks and were so delighted with the results, that within a few weeks they also converted their JV33 to Triangle inks. 24-7 produce promotional posters for arenas around the UK and their machines are therefore critical to their business. The conversion to Triangle inks has proved a great success saving them thousands of pounds on inks."
Long-term value
Managing director of Josero, Loic Delor, added: "The approach taken by the YPS team is similar to the ethos of Josero and Triangle. We too take a long-term view. We want to provide customers with a quality alternative to OEM inks, which saves them money and offers them the reassurance and reliability they need. We believe Triangle inks achieve this."
