Mimaki Engineering has introduced a new dye-sublimation and direct-to-textile inkjet printer, designed to provide ink cost savings. The TX400-1800D will be shipped in Europe from February 2010.

According to the type of cloth and design, the system enables users to adjust the ink volume jetted by the print head to achieve different colour depths. Furthermore, according to the print job, TX400-1800D can accommodate both direct-to-textile and dye-sublimation printing employing sublimation media.

Three different inks, dye sublimation ink, reactive dye ink and acid dye ink are available and ink is delivered in reusable 21-ink containers for reduced environmental impact. Mimaki has equipped the Tx400-1800D with its bulk ink system (MBIS) and its patented uninterrupted ink supply system to ensure automatic switching of inks when one container runs empty without interrupting printing. A maximum of four litres of ink enables unattended printing for longer periods and bigger print runs.
