One of the factors you have little control over is the cost of your ink. Printer manufacturers are quick to imply that using any third party ink will render your maintenance contract invalid and possibly damage your printer. This is a powerful and convincing argument because, in most businesses, if the printer breaks down the business grinds to a costly and stressful halt. Companies selling printers make handsome ongoing profits on the sale of inks and service contracts and so will obviously suggest that changing anything leads to potential disaster. Cost
Myth - Third party inks are cheap but don’t work as well as OEM inks and so end up costing you more in the long run.
Truth – There are third party inks and there are third party inks. Some are very cheap indeed but you do get what you pay for.
