Josero kills the myths about alternative inks

It isn’t just politicians who spin, there is a veritable whirlwind of spinning that goes on within the ink market. Josero, Triangle Inks' UK and Ireland master distributor presents some hard facts about Triangle inks

One of the factors you have little control over is the cost of your ink. Printer manufacturers are quick to imply that using any third party ink will render your maintenance contract invalid and possibly damage your printer. This is a powerful and convincing argument because, in most businesses, if the printer breaks down the business grinds to a costly and stressful halt. Companies selling printers make handsome ongoing profits on the sale of inks and service contracts and so will obviously suggest that changing anything leads to potential disaster. It doesn't have to be like this! By speaking to the right people and carefully choosing the correct products you can substantially cut your costs without compromising on print quality. Lets take a look at some of the main arguments put by the OEM's against changing your ink.

Cost

Myth - Third party inks are cheap but don’t work as well as OEM inks and so end up costing you more in the long run.

Truth – There are third party inks and there are third party inks. Some are very cheap indeed but you do get what you pay for. Triangle inks are not the cheapest third party inks on the market but they are the best quality and can still save you 50% over the price of OEM inks without any reduction in quality and service.

Customer testimonial - Twentyfourseven, in Warrington, who print everything from signage and posters to leaflets, labels and books switched their Mimaki JV3/160SP and Mimaki JV33/160, to Triangle™ Inks in May this year. Alan Burton, Managing Director of twentyfourseven said “We are delighted with our conversion to Triangle™ inks. Not only are we saving 50% on our print costs, the quality of the product is also superb."

Reliability

Myth – Third party inks are unreliable, damage your printer and don’t match the colour gamut of the OEM inks.

Truth – Again, you get what you pay for. Triangle™ inks are completely reliable. Triangle™ have been making third party digital inks for longer than any other manufacturer. Having over 100 installed sites within the UK, none of these have ever had a problem with the reliability of Triangle™ inks. Triangle™ inks are completely colour matched ink set to ink set against the OEM inks, in fact many times Triangle™ will not only match the OEM ink set but will also give you an extended colour gamut particularly towards the red end of the spectrum where some other solvent inks can be lacking.

Customer testimonial – Richard Towers, Production Manager and co-owner of Fast Signs in Peterborough said, “We initially changed to Triangle™ inks because of the cost savings we would make, however, the print quality is fantastic. We even get slightly better colours than with the OEM inks.”

Quality

Myth – Third party inks will clog your print heads so you're better staying with the inks that the printer manufacturers make.

Truth – Triangle™ not only make inks to be sold under their own name but also make inks for printer manufacturers. How many printer manufacturers make ink? Who would you trust to make ink, a printer manufacturer or an ink manufacturer? Triangle™ inks are certified by many print head manufacturers around the world such as Xaar in the UK. This means the Triangle™ inks will have often been developed for specific print heads before the printer manufactures have even begun to build their printer. Given this level of integration it is simply ludicrous to imply that Triangle™ inks won't jet reliably through your print heads. On top of this, Triangle's ink train warranty, which is the most comprehensive in the industry will cover the costs of any repairs to the printers ink train should the damage be proven to have been caused by Triangle™ inks. All Triangle™ inks are also covered by Triangle's worldwide ink durability warranty.

Customer testimonial - Your Printing Supplies (YPS) is Triangle's dealer in the North East.Managing Director, Garry Brown said, “We wanted to find the right quality alternative digital ink which would perform to the standard of OEM inks. After looking at several different inks and testing them rigorously we chose Triangle™ inks because they easily out-performed all the others. We were not only looking at the ink but at the whole package including cartridge or bulk system quality along with the reliability of the chips used because we'd had problems in this area before.".

Sales advice and support

Myth – All third part inks are sold over the telephone by box shifters.

Truth – Not all third party inks are sold by box shifters. Josero don't do telesales and virtually every one of Josero's staff is from an inkjet background, all with a very technical slant. Josero or one of their dealers will always be happy to visit you to discuss your options. Our combined aim is to grow our market share and then keep our customers for the long term because our products work and our support is consistently good. After all, we know there will be plenty of box shifters ringing our customers trying to sell them cheap ink.

Customer testimonial – Sales Director, Nick Little from Trimwel in Ireland, who are Josero’s Irish dealer said “The level of service we receive from Josero is excellent. The team is always available with help and support both for us and our customers.”

Conversion and ongoing technical support

Myth – Converting to a third party ink is a risky business and once you start you are on your own. Only the OEM's have the service coverage to ensure that if you have a problem you will be able to get it resolved quickly. The OEM's are the only people who have the staff able to answer your technical enquiries and the spares needed for a repair.

Truth – The 'Triangle truth' couldn't actually be further away from the myth. Both within Josero and also throughout our dealer network we have service engineers and people experienced in using this equipment in the real world. Have you ever tried telephoning one of the main OEM distributors for a little technical chat when you don't have a service contract with them? Once you switch to Triangle™, we consider you to be part of our inky family and we encourage you to talk to us. On top of that, all of our dealers offer service contracts and these are invariably cheaper than the OEM offerings. So, you can save money on your ink and your service contract. Spare parts? Triangle™ offer spares for virtually all printers at competitive prices. We will sell them to you or to your engineer. We're not just talking about cleaning swabs; we hold the whole range of parts from print heads through the tubing to the pumps.

Customer testimonial - Richard Towers of Fast Signs said “The conversion to Triangle™ inks couldn’t have been easier. We could have done it ourselves, however, Josero made a point of sending an engineer to carry out the conversion. It only took one hour and we were printing again using all our original profiles. Our machine has always been reliable and continues to run perfectly with Triangle™ inks. We should have done it sooner!"

More money than sense

Myth - Everyone who owns an inkjet printer is stinking rich and has money to burn.

Truth - Many ink jet owners are struggling with cash flow, just like everyone else at the moment and would welcome ways to cut their costs. Choosing Triangle™ products via Josero's network of dealers will substantially cut your costs and will not compromise your print quality. We can't guarantee that you'll be immediately stinking but you'll certainly be richer.

To sum up, if you don't at least talk to Josero or one of their dealers you must be barking mad - or be very rich! The team at Josero and their dealers are committed to providing a reliable and competitive alternative to OEM inks. They are also totally committed to hold sufficient stocks to ensure there is never an ink drought for their customers.

With their growing investment in R&D the product range Josero offer is due to expand throughout 2010, and many new products will be launched at Sign UK in April 2010. All the team will be there to welcome you on the Stand F2.
