Introducing the perfect proofing package
Colour management and proofing specialist, GMG, has revealed that its contone and halftone proofing solutions now support the Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 printer, which is said to facilitate top-quality contract-level packaging proofs, even on transparent or metallic foils.
GMG's ColorProof contone proofing software and the FlexoProof XG and DotProof XG halftone modules ensure that GMG's quality and repeatability can be produced for spot colours and white simulation in flexographic, offset and gravure printing. The Epson Stylus Pro WT7900's water-based white ink enables high density white tints and accurate overlays needed for packaging proof applications.
Compared to traditional proofing solutions, the GMG/Epson solution is said to provide digital proofs at a fraction of the cost. Due to the ease of use of the GMG software, the time taken to create new colour profiles and to produce digital proofs is reduced. Furthermore, the DotProof and FlexoProof work by directly processing one-bit imagesetter data so they can be inexpensively proofed on inkjet printers.
Users have already given an enthusiastic reception to the simplification of their workflow. Proofing manager at Athena Graphics, prepress specialist for packaging printing, Kenneth Hostyn, said: “We experienced 75 per cent time savings as all manual steps became unnecessary overnight.”
