Printers set to cut into UK market

Korean supplier of UV direct to media printers and cutter/router tables, Dae Young Systems, (DYSS) has appointed B&P Graphic Supplies as its distributor for UK and Ireland. B&P, which has appointed Sun Chemical as a sub-distributor, will distribute the Apollo range of UV combination and flatbed printers and the X7 range of cutter/routers.

President of DYSS, Hank Park, said: “We chose B&P Graphics because of its focus on customer education, commitment to product support and proven demand-creation capabilities.”

The company's Apollo series UV digital printers comprise a choice of five models, from a printing width of 1.6m up to 3,200mm. As part of its portfolio, DYSS offers a full packaging solution with a 24-head flatbed printer, able to punch registration holes in rigid board, a sheet feeder able to flip the board and feed directly to the cutter, which then takes its registration positions from the back of the board for creasing and V-cuts.

Managing director, B&P Graphic Supplies, Andrew Wilson, said: “We have been disappointed by a lack of labour-saving features in the machines on the market. Some of the innovations on the DYSS Apollo are features we have been crying out for and, while they may seem insignificant in isolation, they can add up to a big reduction in spoilage and time taken per job, in a busy production environment.”

Equipment sales manager for Sun Chemical, Mike Farmer, added: “Our customers’ applications vary enormously from vehicle graphics and estate agent boards to high quality POS advertising and exhibition graphics. The Apollo series provides the right mix for price and performance with peace of mind provided by B&P’s team of experienced engineers. This coupled with the extra usability features on the Apollo, is a real bonus for production houses.”
