Non-PVC films offer an eco alternative
Published:  02 February, 2010

Non-PVC 3M and Ritrama films, now available from William Smith, are designed to offer sign makers a greener alternative to traditional vinyl films.

3M Controltac 3545C film with Comply Adhesive is a flexible, printable, opaque plastic base film, with up to five years’ durability. It is ideal for removable graphics for interior and exterior signage and vehicle graphics. This multi-layer film is manufactured using non-chlorine chemistry said to offer advantages in terms of use and disposal to both sign makers and end users. Trimmed edges can be recycled as raw material and the film can be incinerated or safely landfilled.

Ritrama Ri-Jet 385 Eco-Digital White Gloss AP 902 non-PVC film with permanent adhesive, is UV resistant and suitable for mid-term outdoor applications. It boasts good flexibility and conformability to curved surfaces and adheres well to glass and irregular substrates, including apolar products.
