HP Scitex LX600

William Smith is now offering two new latex printer models from HP – the HP Scitex LX600 and HP Scitex LX800. In addition, the new super-output HP Scitex FB500 UV ink printer has also been added to William Smith’s hardware portfolio.

The HP Scitex LX600 (104in/2.6m) and the super-wide Scitex LX800 (126in/3.2m) both offer the opportunity to achieve significant increases in productivity with their optional dual roll functionality, which means that the full width of the printer can be used. The dual roll kit enables continuous and automatic adjustment of tension between the two media rolls, and accommodates rolls of varying widths and length, allowing two different jobs to be printed at the same time.

Benefits include:

– Vast improvements in turnround as prints come off the printer dry and ready to display, laminate or finish;

– Reduced maintenance and downtime with automatic printhead testing and servicing and simple user replaceable printheads;

– Consistency of colour with automatic colour calibration;

– Constant 1200dpx x 1200dpi printing;

– Outdoor durability up to 5 years laminated, 3 years non-laminated, and

– Indoor durability up to 10 years laminated, 5 years non-laminated.

The new HP Scitex FB500 UV ink printer, with its facility to print and load media simultaneously, is designed to maximise productivity, and is ideal for high volume production. Up to four sheets of media can be loaded quickly with the aid of the printer’s integral automated alignment and positioning features, and no masking is required.

The FB500 offers exceptional image quality (up to 1200 x 600 optimised dpi) on virtually any rigid or flexible material (even corrugated plastic), with good ink adhesion. Quality is maintained when producing double-sided prints, matt or gloss and full bleeds, and it is easier than ever to use white ink for undercoats, overcoats and spot colour.

A choice of printing speeds up to 37sq.m/hr (398sq ft/hr) for prints that will be viewed at long distance, allows the user to select the appropriate combination of speed and quality to meet individual customer requirements.

No printhead maintenance is required and the machine can be monitored remotely via the HP Embedded Web Server, thereby minimising downtime. Print shop space can also be optimised with folding tables that store easily when the printer is not in use.
