Summa launches electronic oscillating knife for F Series

Published:
22 March, 2011

Summa has launched a new tool for its F1612 cutting table: the electronic oscillating tool. The new tool will have its premiere on a few upcoming events: Graphispag (Barcelona, Spain), Sign UK (Birmingham, UK) and Euro Reklama Outdoor (Poznań, Poland).

The oscillating tool fits into the Tangential module of the F1612 and is quickly connected with a cable to the central unit. The oscillating tool is driven by an electric motor producing up to 12.000 rpm and has a stroke of +/-1mm. At the launch, knives will be available to cut material up to a thickness of 20mm. This makes the unit suitable to cut foam boards and corrugated cardboard. The creasing tools will also be released, and even extended with some extra wheels, in order to offer a more complete solution for the packaging market. Of course the oscillating tool can be used for thinner materials as well, where static knives are less successful (e.g.: solid cardboard, textiles, …).
