This month sees the launch of Inca's new Spyder 320-8 series flatbed printer, which will be showcased by distributor Fujifilm Sericol at ISA International Sign Expo '07 in Las Vegas. As the latest edition in the Spyder series, the 320-8 was developed to provide a greater choice of colours, as well as being able to match special colours-along with white.
This is made possible via eight ink modules, each consisting of four Spectra inkjet heads. Initially, the printer will be available with the four CMYK process colour inks, as well as light cyan, light magenta and two units of white, to ensure maximum coverage and print speed.
Aimed at the mid-range market, the Spyder 320-8 series is said to offer a characteristically small Spyder footprint, moving print carriage and a 126 by 63in static vacuum bed with pin registration, sharp image resolution and crisp text. Productivity is good with a print speed of up to 860ft2/h.
Director of marketing at Inca Digital, Heather Kendle, said: “We have had a tremendous response to our Spyder 320+ white printers with many companies discovering uses for white ink coverage along with CMYK, such as two-sided acrylic signs. The Inca Spyder has already demonstrated its registration, easy file set-up and ink opacity, however, many companies have been coveting a white
model that can also print six colours with an extended colour range. The Spyder 320-8 series delivers on that promise.”
