The theme of Digital Expo 2007 (1 to 3 May, NEC, Birmingham) is how to make digital technology work harder for you. Whether you have already invested, are looking to install digital equipment for the first time or simply have technical questions to ask, a visit offers the opportunity to quiz experts and see kit in action
Over 200 companies will be on show so, with a number launching new products, the event will be a showcase of the latest advances in software, digital technology and materials, as well as sign-making products, tools and techniques at the co-located Sign UK.
Education is high on the agenda with an extensive programme of workshops, masterclasses and live demonstrations, all designed to give inspiration for creating new business opportunities. The new Printing for Profit Masterclasses, which are being run in association with Walsall College, will give anyone investing in digital technology for the first time plenty of ideas and advice. Companies that already offer digital services will also benefit from sessions focusing on maximising profit.
Seeing equipment working on the exhibition floor is one of the major benefits of shows like Digital Expo. Hewlett-Packard, Leopold, TTF, Colourgen and Spandex are just a few of the companies taking part in the new Live Demonstration Trails.
The free Corel and Adobe workshops are always packed to overflowing, so getting a seat early is always advisable. This year’s Adobe programme will be looking at packages such as Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge, Aperture 1.5 and Adobe InDesign. In a first for the show the programme will include an informal Q&A session called ‘Ask Adobe’.
Recent launches and improvements to Corel software will be the focus of this series of workshops. CorelDRAW X3, Photo-Paint and Paint Shop Pro Photo XI will all be under the spotlight.
