Eco displays are cutting edge
Published:  01 September, 2007

Installed specifically to develop a range of environmentally friendly display solutions using Dufaylite Ultra Board, Green Graphics has taken delivery of a Kongsberg i-XL24 cutting table. Supplied and installed by Esko's UK distributor, Mill Pond Graphics, the Kongsberg will work in tandem with an eight-module, Inca Spyder 320.

The Kongsberg works well with Dufaylite Ultra Board, cutting and finishing the puncture resistant honeycomb board to create wear-resistant displays with a visual impact. Dufaylite Ultra Board has the additional benefits of being lightweight and easy to assemble. It can also be recycled in line with Green Graphics' environmentally friendly approach to creating large format digital print.

Managing director Dufaylite Developments, Mike Burnell, said: “Green Graphics distinguishes itself by offering an environmental option for promotional products. Our company continues to offer standard materials but we want to introduce and migrate our customers to environmental solutions. The Kongsberg provides us with a flexible print finishing solution, as well as fast and accurate production. It is also supporting our strategy to increase our product range using re-cycled paper and board and natural fibres.”

Green Graphics is using the Esko Kongsberg in conjunction with the Esko i-cut 6.2 vision control system and i-script workflow. This supports cutting and tooling with registration on all kinds of substrates.

Business development manager at Green Graphics, Ashley Moscrop, concluded: “With our investment in new printing technology and our substrate knowledge, we can produce display systems that are 100 per cent recyclable. Wherever possible we have adopted technology, substrates, consumables and processes that are environmentally friendly. Esko’s Kongsberg i-XL24 cutting table is helping us meet these goals.”
