An addition has been made to the Uniform family of wide-format ink-jet printers in the form of the Uniform Grenadier UV, a flat-bed and roll-fed system available from B&P Graphics Systems with a maximum resolution of 720dpi and a price tag of less than £40,000.
With options for four or six colours plus white, Uniform Grenadier UV is available in either 1.6 or 2.5m widths, with its front and rear tables enabling rigid materials up to 3.05m to be used. This is aided by a vacuum platform to ensure media flatness. UV-curable inks are supplied in two litre tanks, with built-in bulk ink sensor and set-up is said to be simple using automatic head adjustment. The printer is designed to offer reliability as well as good print quality and is ideal for users with low- to medium-sized production requirements.
B&P Graphic Systems' Andrew Wilson, expects the printer to be popular with first-time users of UV-curable production systems. He said: “The Uniform Grenadier UV incorporates features and print modes which will give it a strong advantage with the growing number of sign-makers, bureaux and print providers who want to use UV-curable ink without a heavy investment penalty.”
The Uniform Grenadier UV includes a one-year warranty that covers all parts and labour, including print-heads. The printer ships with Uniform’s TROOP! v6 RIP which offers 16-bit work-flow options for improved colour rendering and gradients and no tonal banding.
