Vertical saw is cutting costs
Published:  13 December, 2007

Sign maker, Signwise, has invested in a Koolkut KK21S vertical panel saw from Sagetech Industries

When busy sign specialist, Signwise, wanted to upgrade its sheet cutting process, it decided to invest in a Koolkut KK21S vertical panel saw from Sagetech Industries. Not only has this improved health and safety, it also enables the company to buy materials in bulk and cut to size, rather than purchasing costly pre-cut sheets.

Prior to the arrival of the Koolkut, Signwise used an up and over saw to cut sheet materials, which had to be purchased as cut-to-size sheets with a two day lead time. Now, the Koolkut allows Signwise to buy in stock of two by three metre sheets and cut the sizes required when they are needed. It also allows better use of off-cuts, which were previously wasted.

Managing director, Jim Wise, said: “It's a much more efficient process. It's less wasteful, quicker, more economical and accurate, as well as being cleaner, quieter and safer. Cutting sheets on the Koolkut is a one-man operation and it has the versatility to cut a variety of materials, including foamex, acrylic, polycarbonate, Reynobond, Dibond, ply and aluminium. It's the ideal machine for sign makers.”
