Visitors to London’s designersblock: illustrate exhibition had an opportunity to see the printing properties of Alcan Composites’ Forex classic sheet. Featuring work from over 80 leading illustrators, artists, designers and film makers from all over the world, the designersblock: illustrated festival took place in North London’s freshly minted artistic quarter, Highbury Studios.

Show organiser, Piers Roberts, said: “The quality of image reproduction at our shows is absolutely crucial and the print substrate plays a major part. With direct-to-substrate digital print now becoming the norm for this type of application, the creative community is becoming more aware and more likely to specify products by name. Forex classic is our preferred choice because image quality and consistency are exemplary and the material itself is durable and easy to handle and fix on-site.”

Forex classic is a lightweight rigid plastic foam sheet, available in a range of sheet sizes and thicknesses up to 19mm. Alcan states the surface is extremely flat and smooth without the indentations often found in other rigid foam sheet materials. The material is endorsed by leading digital printing equipment manufacturers.
