Big on quality

Designed to produce cost effective, high quality output for the photographic and fine art sectors, Canon UK has extended its 12-colour graphic art offering with the 44in imagePrograf iPF8100 and the 60in imagePrograf iPF9100 large format printers (LFP).

Featuring an 80GB hard drive, both models deliver Canon's 12-colour ink system featuring Lucia pigment inks. Employing upgraded  monochrome inks, together with red, blue, green, cyan, photo cyan, magenta, photo magenta and yellow, the printers are designed to achieve smooth, natural images with minimal graininess and good ink adhesion for scratch resistance. They can also reduce bronzing, where printed colours take on a metallic hue when viewed at an angle.

Both the iPF8100 and iPF9100 support Canon's Kyuanos colour management technology to deliver colour suitable for different viewing conditions including fluorescent lights, incandescent lights, or sunlight. Each model also includes colour calibration to ensure output consistency and accuracy. Both models use Canon's full-photolithography inkjet nozzle engineering print-head technology and dual print head design, featuring a total of 30,720 nozzles. The new print heads support a maximum resolution of 2,400 by 1,200dpi, with a four picolitre droplet size. Printers also feature automatic clogged nozzle detection to maintain print quality.
