Carbon finish at diamond prices
Published:  01 February, 2007

Developed to offer a carbon fibre finish at minimal cost, Avery Dennison Graphics and Reflective Products division has introduced a new vinyl film for use with self-adhesive signcut signage. Available in black or transparent versions, Avery Carbon Films offer a simulated textured carbon-fibre finish that can be used as a background for all kinds of indoor and outdoor signage.

Formulated specifically for computer signcutting rather than printing, Avery Carbon Films are described as high gloss specialty calendered vinyl films with a clear, permanent acrylic-based adhesive. Cutting and weeding is said to be easy thanks to the film's layflat qualities and dimensional stability, while flexibility aids handling and application. Films measure 90 micron thick and offer a two-year applied life, indoors and out between -40 and 80°C.

These two products are the first in a range of self-adhesive films which will help signmakers to create added visual impact. Avery Carbon Films are suitable for all kinds of signage, from corporate identity and wayfinding to retail and point-of-sale displays and are available ex stock in rolls measuring 0.75 by 10m.
